There are a number of food products that need to be avoided so as not to aggravate the situation. Firstly, the main thing to remember here is to come up with a diet plan that will allow the body to maintain normal blood sugar levels. Fatty beef and pork fat have also been identified to be best avoided. Fried food products are loaded with sodium, saturated fat and calories, all of which should be avoided. This means, it is best to steer clear from fast food chains.

Baked goods are also not to be included in the diet for diabetics. According the US FDA roughly 40% of the transfat consumed by Americans actually come from baked products such as pastries, cookies, muffins, pies and doughnuts. However, the great news is, with the growing market from health conscious individuals, there are baked products made that are sugar free and far free so be sure to check the labels. While processed foods are generally bad for the health, it is especially risky for diabetes so pay better attention on your food intake or better yet, create a diet plan that you can follow.
